CHEMICALS PRODUCTION - Detergent Sulphonation
In the production of soaps and detergents, SO3 gas is used in a sulphonation reaction process.
Fibre filters which are installed before the sulphonation reactor remove very fine oleum mists which, if they were not removed, would cause an immediate reaction and produce water. When they are also installed after the sulphonation reactor they remove sulphonated hydrocarbon mist which otherwise would affect downstream equipment and final product quality.
