AMMONIUM NITRATE GRANULATOR DRYER EXIT
SYNOPSIS - An Ammonium Nitrate Granulator Dryer emission of contaminants was to be reduced. An innovative gas scrubbing system design was used for appx. 65,000 Nm3/hr. The removal efficiency of Ammonium Nitrate and of Ammonia were below the required 10mg/Nm3, with minimum pressure loss.
INTRODUCTION - A Granulated Ammonium Nitrate producer
DESCRIPTION - Combined Total Air Flow : 64,000 m³/Hr from the Granulator Dryer section. Comprising a flow of 17,000 to 25,000 m³/Hr per each of 2 Scrubber units and a flow of 7,000 to 15,000 m³/Hr per each of 2 smaller Scrubber units All 4 Scrubbers are operating in parallel, and discharge into a collector duct and effluent to a common discharge vessel. All materials 304L Stainless Steel
Duty and Performance :
Operating temperature : 52 °C Inlet Ammonium Nitrate dust load : 15,000 to 20,000mg/Nm3 Inlet Ammonia load : < 50mg/Nm3 Scrubbing solution : 25% to 50% Ammonium Nitrate solution + Nitric Acid Spray Per Scrubber Max. 160 litres / min at 1 bar Efficiency guarantees met : < 10mg/Nm3 Ammonium Nitrate particles < 5mg/Nm3 Ammonia Pressure loss 100 mm. water column.
